Israeli forces moved into areas of northern Gaza once again over the weekend, while the military issued fresh evacuation orders for Deir al-Balah in central Gaza and Khan Younis in the south. Israeli strikes have continued across the strip, with one reportedly killing at least 26 people and wounding 93.

Iran fired approximately 180 ballistic missiles at Israel on Tuesday with numerous impacts being reported. Initial reports indicate that two people were injured in the attack. The Israeli military called on citizens to shelter in bunkers during the attack.

The US Department of State and the Iraqi government have announced a two-phase transition plan to end the Global Coalition to Defeat Islamic State group (IS) operations in Iraq by Sept. 2025 and in Syria a year later.

Sudan has announced that it will send negotiators to Cairo to meet US and Egyptian officials, which could lead to its attending peace talks in Geneva alongside the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) rebel group.

Federal prosecutors in Manhattan indicted New York City Mayor Eric Adams on bribery charges Thursday, accusing him of failing to disclose luxury airline tickets, hotel stays, yacht rides, and meals from wealthy foreigners and Turkish officials since at least 2014.

A UN official reported on Monday that aid operations in Gaza have effectively halted due to new evacuation orders issued by the Israeli military. The orders were issued on Sunday night and affected Deir al-Balah in central Gaza. UN operations were not formally suspended, however.

The Israeli military said it killed Hezbollah operations commander Ibrahim Aqil in a strike on Friday that reportedly killed at least nine and injured 59. Hezbollah hasn't confirmed Aqil's death.

Kuwaiti citizens on Thursday voted in the country's first national elections under the new Emir, Sheikh Mishal al-Ahmad al-Sabah, amid hopes to end a years-long gridlock between the National Assembly and the royal family.
