Turkish journalist İrem Delice was arrested on Aug. 28 after prosecutors appealed her initial release under judicial supervision, following a social media post by Aydın Denge newspaper bearing the words "Erdoğan passed away" in reference to a local woman named Gülşen Erdoğan.
Delice, a reporter for Aydın Denge, was among four newspaper staff detained on Aug. 26 on suspicion of "publicly disseminating misleading information" under Article 217/A of the Turkish Penal Code. Reporter İslam Keleş was released after police procedures.
