Version 7.18.3
Ignoring clear guidance to coordinate before walking into a volatile area is reckless political theater, and the cameras were clearly the real motive. Security rules in a tense region exist to keep everyone safe, including visiting politicians who would demand immediate army protection the second things turned ugly. Deliberately picking a confrontation and then claiming victimhood is a cheap political trick.
Peaceful olive picking shouldn't end in detention, yet the army swooped in while masked settlers who beat journalists and farmers roam free. Declaring a field a closed military zone the moment outsiders show up is a convenient way to keep Palestinians off their own olive groves. Standing beside families during an already dangerous harvest is basic human decency, and treating it as a crime is shameful.
