Steadfast leadership matters not just for Israel but for allies fighting the same enemies. Netanyahu's victory will send a message to the Iranian regime, Islamist dictatorships and hostile global forces that Israel's resolve will not be broken, while a loss will only embolden Israel's adversaries.
Government-critical narrative
Escalating strikes across Lebanon, Gaza and Syria conveniently coincide with a trailing incumbent's re-election bid, transforming security policy into a campaign strategy. Settler violence in the West Bank goes unchecked while military fronts multiply, straining an exhausted army and citizenry. Even Washington is urging restraint across every theater, undercutting the narrative of unavoidable necessity. Meanwhile, the election campaign ignores accountability for Oct. 7, fixating instead on trivial scheduling disputes while the country's true direction remains unexamined.
Pro-Palestine narrative
Every cycle, elections in Israel demonstrate the state's apartheid system. Besides the fact that millions of Palestinians living under Israeli rule have no political representation, Israel's major political factions have all voiced reservations about forming a coalition with an Arab party. Indeed, though Israeli politics are known for their raucous nature, there is little disagreement regarding the state's sordid treatment of Palestinians.
