Ratifying the lawfully reviewed election results is a blow to Netanyahu's efforts to discredit the vote. Smearing Arab voters as foreign agents, with no evidence of result-changing fraud, is a cynical bid to cling to power and risks dragging Israel into a constitutional crisis. Certification now rightfully leaves Eisenkot room to seek Arab-party backing and form an alternative government.
Serious suspicions of foreign money flowing into an Israeli election deserve a full investigation before anyone rubber-stamps the outcome. Abstaining while cash-stuffed envelopes and vote-buying claims go unexamined amounts to quiet consent, and tying the hands of security investigators only deepens the suspicion. Sovereignty means the ballot belongs to Israeli citizens, not foreign rulers.
