It is important to remember, however, that the U.S. is at war for a worthy cause: to prevent the Iranian regime from acquiring a nuclear device that would imperil U.S. national security. Stopping this, therefore, is paramount, and the president displayed great strength in achieving this objective.

All the false confidence and bravado that Trump and his lackeys can summon do not change the material fact that this administration has led the U.S. into a quagmire. Unable to accept a strategic defeat, powerless to pressure Iran to surrender and lacking any clear exit strategy, Trump has blundered his way into a potential forever war that cannot be easily escaped, to the detriment of the national interest and the American people.
