Detaining the father of a Navy sailor who spent nine months deployed aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln is a moral failure of the highest order. A family that has contributed to this country — through military service and decades of tax-paying — deserves far better than being torn apart by a mass deportation machine. This is exactly the kind of inhumane outcome that makes enforcement without compassion so deeply wrong.
