Trump Administration Pulls Subpoenas for New York Times Journalists
Is this a dangerous abuse of power or a justified national security investigation?

Subpoenaing reporters and demanding their family members' phone records over a routine story about Air Force One security was a blatant abuse of power. The story revealed nothing sensitive — Trump himself admitted the plane needed work. This was about punishing the press and using the Justice Department as a weapon against journalism.
Right narrative
The media outrage over the NYT subpoenas conveniently ignores that the Obama administration prosecuted more leakers under the Espionage Act than any presidency in history, often secretly seizing records with zero notice. The NYT reportedly ran the Air Force One story despite FBI warnings that it posed a direct national security threat. This selective outrage is just partisan performance.
