The Houthis cannot claim resistance while deliberately expanding the battlefield to civilian infrastructure and population centers far beyond their front lines. Strikes that repeatedly put families, workers and travelers at serious risk are not legitimate defense but a dangerous escalation of the war. Saudi Arabia has every right to protect its territory and people from relentless cross-border attacks rather than simply absorb them without consequence.
Saudi Arabia cannot invoke self-defense to excuse a military campaign that has repeatedly devastated civilian life and infrastructure across Yemen. Years of intervention have deepened one of the region's worst humanitarian crises while failing to deliver lasting security or peace. For Yemenis who have lived under that pressure for more than a decade, resistance is not simply aggression against a neighbor but a response to sustained foreign military intervention.
