Alibaba's Zhenwu V900 shows what real AI ambition looks like: triple the performance of its predecessor, 216 GB of memory and clusters scaling to 500,000 cards. Pair that with Qwen models racing toward 10 trillion parameters and 20GW of data center capacity by 2032, and the path from breakthrough to value creation is clear. Machine thinking is barely 3% of human capacity and the growth potential is enormous.
Industry-critical narrative
Recklessly adding more compute to recursive self-improvement could outrun our ability to understand or control these systems. Alignment, interpretability and testing are nowhere near ready, and agent swarms have already launched attacks nobody asked for. Alibaba should pace the frontier, bring in embedded independent evaluators and prove safety, not rush to scale to half a million chips per cluster.
