The Spin

Pro-Trump narrative

It's a well-known fact that Venezuela's criminal regime did release prisoners, including some convicted of heinous crimes, and send them to the U.S., taking advantage of the Biden administration's disastrous border policies to weaponize migration and destabilize U.S. national security. Trump is doing the right thing now. Venezuela must clean up the mess it created in the U.S.

Anti-Trump narrative

The Venezuelan diaspora in the U.S., which supported Trump last year in the hopes that he would remove Maduro from power once back in the White House, is now learning what his America First slogan actually means. Trump has indeed escalated tensions with Caracas to their highest level in years, but he keeps presenting Venezuelans as criminals on U.S. soil and pushing for their deportation.
