The Spin

Right narrative

This probe is crucial to uncover corruption in the ruling Socialist Party. Bolaños' flagrant disregard for both ethics, by hiring a woman to benefit Sánchez's wife personally, and the law, in thinking he could bypass perjury rules, is unacceptable. The wider "Koldo case" exposes rampant bribery in the PSOE, with leaked police messages revealing Sánchez's government to be rotten to the core.

Left narrative

This probe is a politically motivated overreach, not a quest for justice. Manos Limpias, the right-wing group that initially filed these complaints, is exploiting legal tools to push baseless claims to hurt Sánchez politically. The Koldo case lacks solid evidence, and the so-called leaks aim to smear, not seek the truth. While the PSOE certainly has issues, they don’t justify this biased witch hunt.
