Merck KGaA and British biotech firm Silence Therapeutics ("Silence") announced on Monday that they had entered into a definitive agreement for Merck KGaA to acquire Silence in an all-cash deal with an enterprise value of $1.1 billion and an equity value of about $1.3 billion.
