Yemen's Government Launches Offensive to Retake Houthi-Held Territory

- Rashad al-Alimi, chairman of Yemen's Saudi-backed Presidential Leadership Council, announced Sunday in a televised address the start of military operations "to retake the remaining territory of the republic and extend the authority of the state and its institutions across the entire national territory."
- "We have issued our directives to the armed forces, security forces and all military formations to begin carrying out their assigned missions in accordance with the plan, until the country is liberated from the grip of the Houthi militia," al-Alimi added.
- This comes as Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said on Sunday that the group fired ballistic missiles and drones at Saudi Aramco sites in Riyadh and the Khurais area, claiming large fires at both locations. Saudi Arabia did not immediately comment.

Bombing and strangling a country for years earns only one response: siege for siege, escalation for escalation. Striking the oil facilities that bankroll the aggression is legitimate self-defense, and homegrown missiles slipping past expensive Western air defenses prove the point. The painful operations and attacks will continue until the Saudi aggression and blockade end.
Pro-establishment narrative
Peace was given every chance, and the response was more mobilization, more threats against civilians and more attacks on neighbors and shipping lanes. No state can survive with weapons held outside its authority by a faction that decides the country's future at gunpoint. Restoring institutions, services and families' right to go home is worth the fight.
