The Spin

Democratic narrative

Cooper delivered for North Carolinians as governor and would do the same if sent to Washington. He did the best he could to stand up to Republican threats to health care and democracy by vetoing extreme abortion restrictions and the GOP's voter-suppression bill. Cooper expanded Medicaid to hundreds of thousands, showing that he cares about his constituents. He's committed to advancing clean energy projects and promoting economic fairness, and, with his experience and values, he would make a strong U.S. Senator for North Carolina.

Republican narrative

Whatley is the right choice because he offers a firm commitment to conservative priorities. As RNC chair, he led nationwide efforts to secure elections, recruiting thousands of poll watchers and pushing for voter ID and stronger ballot safeguards. He earned President Trump's endorsement by backing the president at every turn and advancing the MAGA agenda. Whatley is an outstanding leader who champions pro-growth economic policies, border security and a return to limited, accountable government.
