UK Minister: French Police Ordered to Let Migrants Cross Channel

Are France and the U.K. deliberately allowing this or is it a manufactured political spectacle?

The Spin

Right narrative

French police are openly admitting they've been ordered to let migrants go, handing them life jackets and escorting them toward British waters — all while British taxpayers foot the bill for enforcement that isn't happening. Labour keeps insisting the plan is working, but hundreds of migrants launched boats in a single day. Even when numbers go down, it's largely due to weather, not policy, exposing a clear, calculated scheme to force immigrants upon the U.K.

Left narrative

The government should not be swayed by political stunts like this, which was clearly exaggerated by Philp, whose own team appeared confused by his claims about the French military. Obsessing over Channel crossings while ignoring the more than a million legal visas issued the same year exposes how hollow the tough-on-migration posture really is. The numbers show net immigration has already fallen sharply, meaning the crisis is being dramatized for political gain.
