Version 7.18.3
Honoring the offer made to key workers during a time of national crisis is the very least Mahmood can do. Daily work washing, feeding and nursing the elderly is a contribution to the British state that should be celebrated, and yet has faced relentless attacks from those who feel threatened by multiculturalism. While this is a step in the right direction, Mahmood must do more to ensure that Britain remains a tolerant and liberal society.
Labour's migration promises were never to be trusted, with the party unsurprisingly picking foreign interests over the repeated democratic will of the British public. Time and time again the public has voted for lower migration, yet the powers that be continue to ignore the reality of their mandate. Mahmood has cowered to the ideological fanaticism of the Labour backbenches, proving herself unworthy of the toughness the role of Home Secretary requires.
