Version 7.4.3
Despite the massive logistical burden, rescue teams are making a serious, coordinated effort. A 110-meter channel is being dredged to connect the whale to deeper water, and a massive lowerable cargo barge is being brought in from the Hamburg area to transport the 12-ton animal. There's good reason to optimistic about these endeavors.
While rescuers worked to save Timmy, NDR spent its mandatory fee-funded resources investigating the political backgrounds of volunteer whale rescuers rather than covering the actual rescue. The Greens openly used Timmy's suffering for environmental campaigning without a word of scrutiny from the same outlet. Public broadcasting has abandoned neutral reporting and turned into an ideological gatekeeper deciding who gets to be a hero.
The government's handling of this situation is questionable, particularly given procedural delays and regulatory rigidity that appear to have hindered timely intervention. The apparent reliance on inadequate technical resources raises questions about planning and execution. A more decisive, transparent and adequately equipped response would better reflect both the seriousness of the circumstances and the responsibility entrusted to public authorities.
