Rubio Accuses Zelenskyy of Lying Over US Security Guarantees
Is this embarrassing for the Ukrainian leader or were his statements essentially correct?

Rubio just exposed Zelenskyy as a liar in front of numerous reporters, stating that his statements about U.S. security guarantees being tied to land concessions are false. This is deeply embarrassing for the Ukrainian leader.
Pro-Ukraine narrative
Despite Rubio's denial of Zelenskyy's statements, what the Ukrainian leader said is essentially true. If the war is not going to end unless Ukraine gives up its territory, and U.S. security guarantees are only going to kick in after the war, then the security guarantees are essentially tied to Ukraine giving up its land. Zelenskyy has said he's not willing to betray the 200,000 Ukrainians living in the Donbas region.
