The Spin

Anti-Israel narrative

The Presbyterian Church's genocide declaration is backed by a mountain of evidence from the U.N., Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and even Israeli human rights groups. Over 70,000 Palestinians have been killed, including 21,000 children, and the denomination's call for an arms embargo and divestment from companies like GE Aerospace reflects a moral reckoning long overdue. Faith communities are stepping up where political leaders have failed.

Pro-Israel narrative

Genocide requires proven intent to destroy a people for who they are — a legal bar Israel simply hasn't crossed. The IDF has delivered more humanitarian aid to an enemy population than any military in history and taken extraordinary precautions to limit civilian casualties. Misapplying the term also dilutes its meaning, making it harder to respond to actual genocides and fueling dangerous antisemitism.
