Merz's cabinet reshuffle is a bold move that keeps the momentum behind Germany's reforms going. Nina Warken, Carsten Linnemann, Philipp Amthor, Steffen Bilger and Thorsten Frei will each bring a wealth of talent and experience to their new positions, ensuring that the government can continue delivering on its priorities, from health care to the economy and NATO.
This shambles of a reshuffle shows that Merz is not cut out for the chancellorship. The cowardice he has demonstrated during this process, coupled with broken promises, has shattered both public trust in his government and his political authority. It is well past time that Merz reconsider his position, as Germany deserves better than a chancellor who can't handle the job.
