U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell's office continued to release brief statements on Tuesday since his hospitalization, saying he "continues to improve" and is working with staff on Kentucky and Senate matters while the Senate is in recess.

McConnell's team's refusal to release a video from the hospital raises serious questions about transparency. A paid consultant vouching for his condition isn't proof. The public deserves direct evidence, not spin from establishment insiders. Until there's real verification, claims that McConnell is recovering should be treated with deep skepticism.

McConnell is well enough to have taken multiple phone calls of nearly 20 minutes each, discussing active legislative priorities and upcoming Senate races. That's not the behavior of someone incapacitated and conspiracy theorists should stand down. McConnell is clearly engaged and on the road to returning to the Senate.
