Larry Summers' resignation from Harvard over his Epstein ties is part of a broader pattern within the Democratic political sphere. Despite accusations against President Trump, approximately 85% of all those implicated in the Epstein files have been Democrats. The fall of yet another shows why they fought so hard to hide the files while in power, and distract from them in opposition.
It is ironic that Republicans are using the Epstein files to attack Democrats when their president is mentioned countless times in the same documents. With the Trump administration now slamming the brakes on releasing millions more sealed files, it raises the question of why and whether the Republicans are concocting a cover-up to protect their leader.
Larry Summers' resignation, just like Trump's repeated mentions in the files, shows that neither party is untouched or innocent in its relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. What this scandal really reveals, therefore, is that America labors under a political system that exists to protect the rich and powerful, no matter how sordid their deeds or the harm they inflict.
