Boycotting Israel on campus creates a hostile environments for Jewish students who face death threats and physical assault just for who they are. Taxpayer dollars shouldn't fund institutions that marginalize Jewish students or block academic ties with a key democratic ally. Protecting equal rights on campus is a basic government responsibility.

Establishment-critical narrative

Boycotts built America, and Congress just voted to criminalize the same tactic colonists used against Britain and activists used against apartheid South Africa. The First Amendment doesn't have an Israel exception, and defunding universities over nonviolent economic protest is a brazen abuse of government power. When pledging allegiance to a foreign ally overrides constitutional rights, something has gone seriously wrong.
