Version 7.18.3
Hiding behind a subsidiary's corporate paperwork is no longer a free pass for a multinational that owns nearly all of it and calls the shots. Years of squeezing small rivals out of bars and off supermarket shelves deserves a bill that actually stings, interest included. Independent brewers finally have a real shot at justice instead of being bled dry by endless legal maneuvering.
Damages this big ought to rest on hard economic evidence, not guesswork about what a competitor might have earned in some imaginary version of the market. Slapping a label on conduct is no substitute for showing how competition was actually harmed in a real market. And leaning on presumptions instead of proof shifts the burden onto the accused before any court has blessed that approach.
