The Spin

Pro-China narrative

China's drone advantage over Taiwan is overwhelming and undeniable — the PLA will simply build more drones than Taiwan has missiles to shoot them down. Stealth combat drones like the GJ-11 will hide among expendable platforms, delivering precision strikes while Taiwan's ports get destroyed and resupply becomes impossible. This is a numbers game Taiwan cannot win.

Anti-China narrative

China's drone deception flights over the South China Sea — masking military aircraft as sanctioned cargo planes and RAF jets — revealed a rehearsal strategy. Taiwan has absorbed Ukraine's hard-won lessons, shifting toward drones, sea mines and dispersed missiles that make any amphibious assault brutally costly. Beijing's window is narrow and the price of failure could mean regime change.
