Canada Cancels Gordie Howe Bridge Ceremony After Trump Tariffs
Is this the right move or does it turn a major win into a pointless trade-war skirmish?

Canada was right to cancel the joint ceremony — standing on a stage with an administration that extorted half the bridge's toll profits then slapped 50% tariffs days later, would've been embarrassing. Canada built and financed the entire $6.4 billion project, yet ended up making significant concessions. Showing up to smile for that crowd is a doormat move.

Canceling the Gordie Howe Bridge ceremony is a self-inflicted wound. The U.S. has real concerns over the ownership of the bridge, and Canada has turned this opportunity to enhance trade relations into a political football.
