Version 7.18.3
A conservative West is finally lined up under Doerkson, Smith and Moe, and that changes everything for a country run against its own resource provinces. Interprovincial trade, pipelines and pro-growth policy get a real shot now that the anti-Alberta roadblock in Victoria under Eby is gone. Ottawa can't coast on outrage politics anymore — results are the only currency left.
Tearing up Indigenous Rights law and gutting regulations won't conjure prosperity, it guarantees years of court fights and uncertainty for the investors being courted. Tripling gas exports while scrapping the industrial carbon price is a bet the world is already walking away from. Old growth, clean air and honest emissions math are worth more than a deregulation spree.
Ottawa's actually happy about this. Carney's team sees Doerkson's Conservative government as a partner in expanding LNG, pipelines and conventional energy exports. The NDP already moved on development, but now the federal government expects less provincial pushback and fewer regulatory hurdles. Different party, same agenda, and a much easier path to getting Canada's energy to market.
