Version 7.7.2
Following the painful aftermath of the Bondi terror attack, which is still in the minds of all Australians, it is more important than ever that online platforms meet their obligations to protect the community. In the case of Telegram, it was repeatedly warned of prohibited content that stayed on its platform for weeks after it was flagged.
Calls to violence and terrorist propaganda have no place on Telegram and partnering with organizations like the Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology, the company has significantly scaled its efforts to remove such content. Since 2016, Telegram has published daily transparency reports on the removal of terrorist content and its efforts in this regard have even been praised by Europol.
