The Royal Commission into antisemitism is a necessary and overdue reckoning for Australia. Antisemitism didn't emerge overnight, it grew through years of negligence and indifference, culminating in the Bondi massacre. Meaningful reform across education, law enforcement and leadership is the only path to ensuring Jewish Australians can live without fear.
The Royal Commission's interim report is a political exercise that dodges the real issue — radical Islamist extremism — while fixating on lawful firearm owners. Mentioning firearms over 150 times while barely addressing Islam exposes the inquiry's priorities. If agencies identified no gaps that allowed Bondi to happen, the Commission owes Australians a straight answer over what actually failed.
