Version 7.6.4
Gazans rising up against Hamas proves what's been true for years — that Hamas doesn't speak for the people it brutalizes. The "June 26 Revolution" also isn't a foreign plot, as shown by its mass grassroots support from people who've been arrested, tortured and silenced for daring to want a normal life. While Hamas leaders will try to smear this campaign as all of those things, normal Gazans are coming out in force to show that Hamas doesn't represent them.
Israel bombing protest sites while publicly cheering on demonstrators exposes exactly whose interests are being served here. Every time Gazans take to the streets, Israel hijacks the imagery to bury coverage of the genocide — and it works. Genuine Palestinian dissent deserves better than being turned into propaganda cover for the very military that's starving and displacing the protesters.
