Version 7.7.2
The idea that a group of armed settlers were simply "hiking" through a Palestinian village is ludicrous. Israeli settlers stormed Tal with the explicit goal of displacing the local population and taking their land. Four Palestinians were killed and four wounded as occupation forces joined the assault on residential buildings. This was another settler massacre, but unlike the many others that have occurred this year, Palestinians defended themselves.
A group of Israelis went on a hike and were attacked simply for being Jewish. Two Israelis were killed near Havat Gilad after a violent confrontation erupted when a Palestinian snatched a rifle and opened fire. Maj. Yuval Ezra and squad member Benayahu Mellet — a father of two who rushed to help the hikers under attack — both lost their lives. Netanyahu responded with immediate security measures, and Israeli forces will restore security to the area.
