Trump asks Supreme Court to let him fire members of Consumer Product Safety Commission
CBS1 day
SCOTUS should grant Trump permission to fire these commissioners. Biden's appointees have shown hostility to Trump's agenda and thrown the agency into dysfunction, forcing staff to choose which directives to follow while undermining the acting chairman's authority.
Removing these commissioners at this time would severely impair the agency's ability to protect consumers. In addition, SCOTUS must stop ignoring the Humphrey precedent, and stop deferring to the Trump administration's emergency applications with so little time to consider them.
