Ex-Costa Rica president and Nobel Peace Prize winner Oscar Arias says US revoked his visa
Associated PressAPR 3
That a vocal critic of Donald Trump such as Óscar Arias would have had his visa revoked should be expected as soon as Trump's Secretary of State Marco Rubio began to weaponize visas to punish dissenting views. It's concerning, though not surprising, that the Trump administration is using administrative powers for that end.
It's completely false that Óscar Arias had his visa revoked because of his public remarks criticizing President Trump and his government. Similar to other political figures in Costa Rica who had their visa revoked, Arias represents a potential risk to U.S. national interests and security for his obscure relations with China and its companies.
