The Spin

Pro-establishment narrative

The arrangement between Kosovo and the U.S. is a win-win for both countries. The cooperation simultaneously strengthens Kosovo's relationship with America while making strong progress on the Trump administration's commitment to removing illegal migrants from U.S. territory. The 50 migrants involved will be treated fairly in full accordance with Kosovo's law.

Establishment-critical narrative

The deal made between the U.S. and Kosovo raises serious moral and ethical concerns. By using poorer nations as a way to offload their responsibility for caring for migrants, the U.S. and other European countries risk violating the rights of migrants by burdening them on third-party nations that may not be able or willing to safeguard their well-being.
