Researchers discovered North America's oldest known pterosaur fossil, dating back 209 million years to the late Triassic period, at Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona. The seagull-sized flying reptile, named Eotephradactylus mcintireae, is one of the oldest pterosaur species found outside Europe.
