The Spin

Pro-Trump narrative

Hosting international students is not an educational right. It is a privilege and one that Harvard has lost due to its refusal to comply with federal law. The university has treated federal demands with utter contempt, rebuffing requests to protect Jewish students and provide the administration with the details of international students involved in illegal activities. As such, Harvard can no longer be trusted to host international students.

Anti-Trump narrative

Trump has attempted to use 20th-century immigration laws to stifle freedom of speech on college campuses. The president's use of the Immigration and Nationality Act is designed to silence dissent from non-citizens despite the fact the First Amendment protects their speech. This has had a disastrous effect on college campuses and, if allowed to continue, will undermine the position of U.S. high education in the world.
