Republican narrative
This health care bill will provide much-needed relief to ordinary Americans. Through its reforms, the legislation will cut premium costs by at least 11% and provide small businesses and the self-employed with access to association health plans. Instead of masking health costs with taxpayer-funded subsidies, this bill will actually lower them.
Democratic narrative
By letting the ACA tax credits expire, the Republicans have taken health care away from millions of Americans, forcing premiums to skyrocket for working families. It is imperative, therefore, for the GOP to hold a vote on the Democrats' petition to extend these vital subsidies, without which countless Americans will suffer the consequences.
