The Spin

Pro-Europe narrative

The EU must end its energy dependence on Russia to protect its security and sovereignty. Every euro spent on Russian fossil fuels strengthens an aggressor's war chest. By investing in clean, domestic energy and following the REPowerEU roadmap, the EU can shield its citizens from blackmail, ensure stability, and stand firmly with Ukraine against aggression.

Pro-Russia narrative

The EU’s push to cut off Russian energy is short-sighted and hypocritical. While criticizing Hungary and Slovakia, many member states quietly keep buying Russian oil and gas through third parties. Orbán and Fico are right: Europe is fed up of costly ideological pursuits by Brussels's elite. Swapping cheap Russian energy for expensive alternatives will only damage the pockets of the working classes.
