England has finally found a way to banish all the 'years of hurt'. It’s called women’s football and the Lionesses | Ava Vidal

There's no way to overstate the importance of this win — and in particular for the nation's women. For so long, The U.K. has chased glory through men's sports teams and treated women's sports with disdain. With three major finals in a row and back-to-back Euro wins, the Lionesses achieved what the men's team still can only dream of.
The nation is proud of the Lionesses, and the Lionesses are proud to be English. That would be a normal thing in any other country in the world — not in England, where people expressing Englishness and displaying national symbols are all too often labeled as far-right agitators. May the Lionesses' victory restore common sense and let traditional patriotism flourish again.
