    The Facts

    • Palestinians and Israeli police clashed for a second day in a row on Fri. at Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. Palestinians threw stones while the police entered the compound firing rubber bullets and stun grenades. The confrontation left at least 30 Palestinians and one Israeli police officer injured.

    • Clashes also occurred on Thurs. around the entrance to the mosque. Several Palestinians were wounded after Israeli police used pepper spray, tear gas, and rubber bullets, while Palestinian youth shot fireworks at Israeli groups that passed through the compound.

    The Spin

    Pro-Palestine narrative

This is but the latest in a series of unprovoked attacks by Israeli occupation forces, who appear bent on turning the holy month of Ramadan in Jerusalem and Gaza into a battlefield.

    Pro-Israel narrative

Police officers were forced to act in response to Palestinian violence to block rioters from injuring worshippers and desecrating holy places. This is a complex and sensitive time, but Israel is determined to guarantee the security of its citizens and public order, while taking efforts to allow freedom of worship to everyone on the Temple Mount.
