The Facts

The Palestinian Health Ministry on Thurs. stated that Israeli forces killed 6 Palestinians in confrontations this week, as an extensive Israeli military campaign across the West Bank entered into its 5th day.

On Wed. night, 3 Palestinians were killed in separate incidents as Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out raids in Silwad, near Ramallah, and outside Bethlehem. Among them, a 14-year-old boy and a lawyer named Mohammed Assaf.

On Thurs. morning in Jenin, 2 Palestinians were killed in further clashes. They were identified as Mustafa Abul Rob and Shaas Kamamji, both in their 20s. The latter was reportedly the brother of Ayham Kamamji, one of the 6 escapees of the Gilboa prison in September.

A series of Israeli military raids were launched after a recent wave of Palestinian terror attacks took the lives of 14 people during the last three weeks. 15 Palestinians have been shot and killed by Israeli forces in the past two weeks.

The renewed violence comes as Muslims mark the holy month of Ramadan and as Jews are set to celebrate Passover, which begins on Friday.
