Ricky L. Freeman

Ricky L. Freeman is superintendent of Indianapolis Public Schools, appointed in 2021. He previously served as deputy superintendent and chief of staff for the district. Freeman has focused on academic recovery post-pandemic, expanding career pathways, and addressing enrollment challenges. He holds degrees from Indiana University and Butler University and began his career as a teacher.
