Peru's general elections are set for April 12, 2026, with a possible presidential runoff on June 7 if no presidential candidate wins over 50%. Voters will choose the president, two vice presidents and all seats in the newly restored bicameral Congress (130 Deputies + 60 Senators). A record 35 candidates are running for the presidency, with right-wing frontrunners featuring Rafael "Porky" López Aliaga of the Renovación Popular (Popular Renewal) party and Keiko Fujimori of the Fuerza Popular (Popular Force) party. Left-wing Alfonso López-Chau of the Ahora Nación (Now Nation) party and right-wing Carlos Álvarez of the País Para Todos (Country for All) party are other notable contenders.
