President Zelenskyy and the U.S. leader spoke about ending the war and Ukraine is ready to make that happen, as well as entering into an energy ceasefire. It depends on the Russian position, though they've shown no real indication they want to end the conflict.

Moscow has long stated it favors peace but it has made clear that it prefers a lasting settlement that deals with the underlying issues over a temporary ceasefire that essentially achieves nothing. Ukraine is well aware of what is required to achieve that peace but continues to take actions that are in opposition to the prospect.
