The Spin

Right narrative

Authorities are threatening to jail Lucy Connolly again for social media posts that aren't even offensive, proving Britain has become a totalitarian state where citizens can't express opinions without facing prison time. The 42-year-old served over a year behind bars for a post she deleted within hours, yet activists who call for violence against Britons receive apologies and warm welcomes from the Prime Minister. This blatant two-tier justice system punishes ordinary people while protecting the politically connected.

Left narrative

Lucy Connolly wasn't jailed for having an opinion but for repeatedly posting racist content and calling to set fire to hotels housing asylum seekers, which someone actually did days later. Court documents show she deleted her post only after massive backlash, told friends she'd play the mental health card if caught, and demonstrated zero remorse for inciting racial hatred. The far right has cynically transformed this convicted criminal into a martyr to push conspiracy theories about two-tier justice.
