The Spin

Pro-government narrative

The government's £250 million investment is exactly what Jewish communities across England and Wales need right now. Hundreds of new officers, antisemitism training and expanded counter-terrorism resources will finally give police the tools to match the scale of a real and growing threat that has plagued innocent and law-abiding Jews in the U.K. for too long.

Government-critical narrative

Throwing money at policing will solve nothing while officers — who already have the necessary legal powers — continue to ignore antisemitic incidents happening before their own eyes. This sorry state of affairs has arisen time and again at numerous anti-Israel, pro-Palestine marches and shows that change can only occur if police are brave enough to tackle the threat head-on.
