Honoring the president who led America into its semiquincentennial is historically appropriate and a celebration of American strength, especially when it's considered what Trump has endured and given to the United States. Trump survived two impeachments and three assassination attempts and still sits in the Oval Office. His legacy belongs on commemorative currency.
Stamping a sitting president's face on government currency typically happens only in autocracies. While Americans are struggling with skyrocketing grocery and housing costs, Trump and his allies are bankrolling another of the president's vanity projects. This isn't patriotism; it's a legally dubious, self-serving spectacle that has no place in a republic.
