Peaceful protest is a constitutional right, and dragging demonstrators into police vans makes that right meaningless. Sealing off a designated protest site with fortress-level security, then sneering that nobody showed up, is a rigged game. Democracy runs through ballots and institutions, not through crowds threatening arson and chaos in the national capital. Maintaining order during deliberate disruption is a duty, not repression.
