Sasiphat Sinsamosorn, the director of Phatong Prathan Kiriwat School in Hat Yai, Thailand, died at 2 a.m. local time on Thursday from severe internal injuries and massive blood loss after being shot in the chest and torso during a school siege on Wednesday.

An 18-year-old male entered the school near Hat Yai shortly before 5 p.m. local time on Wednesday and opened fire, holding several teachers and students hostage during a two-hour standoff before he was overpowered by police.
